Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and husbandry for a variety of animal species - Monitor animal behavior, health, and welfare - Prepare and distribute diets according to specific dietary requirements - Clean and maintain animal enclosures and exhibit areas - Assist with veterinary procedures and administer medications as directed - Conduct behavioral enrichment activities to promote natural behaviors - Participate in training sessions to ensure safety during animal handling - Collaborate with other zoo staff to develop and implement conservation programs present entertaining, education programs on and offsite
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals in a zoo or similar setting - Knowledge of animal care practices, including nutrition, hygiene, and enrichment - Familiarity with taxonomy and scientific classification of animals - Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, following established protocols and guidelines Note:
